The Boys minus Steven
Riley's long-time friend Ben finally made his way back to Oklahoma (but only for a short time) after recently graduating from optometry school in Tennessee. So of course we all got together for a great night to catch up! By "all" I mean Ben and his friend from school, Ben's parent's Dave and Mary, Kim and BJ, Matt and Heather, Steven and Rachelle with baby Kyler, and David and Amber with baby Emerson and big boy Tripp. Dave and Mary, were so gracious and hospitable and fed us all very well....steak and potatoes! Yum! The last time we all got together things were a little different....now we have growing families and plenty of extra noise and activity thanks to the little ones running (I mean crawling) around as well as little Samuel still growing in momma Kim's belly. We got to meet the youngest little one tonight....miss Emerson Kate, David and Amber's precious three day old baby girl. The brave momma and daddy came over with big brother to show off their newest edition. So tiny and sweet. It's hard to believe our Hal gal was once that small...it seems like it never happened. Hallie got in some quality bonding with Mr. Kyler, Steven and Rachelle's son. They had met once before but I think they really "connected" tonight. By connected I mean that they shared some dried fruit bits and a cup of apple juice. So romantic. They finally discovered that eachother just might be fun to play with....so they took off toward the step where they went up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down....you get the picture. Riley compared it to the movie Step Brothers where they suddenly decide they actually like eachother and yell "DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?!" Too cute those two are.....
Silly babies
"Watch out for that alligator buddy"
No, I did not dress my daughter like that....but that is what happens when an unexpected blowout occurs. I grabbed whatever was on top of her bag. It matched halfway at least. After all, she's gotta keep up with this little dude's style.....
The epitome of cool
We were so amazed with Kyler's vocabulary....he knows everything....just jabbering away all night and in such a sweet little voice. What a precious, precious boy! I even tried to take him home!
Talking to daddy
Tickles from Ben and BJ
The boys dispersed and then huddled outdoors.....
No girls allowed
.......while the girls stayed inside with the little ones and chit chatted and occupied the babes.....
Since all of us are old men and women with real big people jobs and bedtimes (boo) we headed home around 9:30 after a couple attempts to put Hallie in her pack n play. She was not missing any of the fun, no sirree! It was great to get together with everyone at the same time....we don't do it nearly enough!!!!
Oh and I bet Mary and Dave LOVED all those baby there!!! Love the Brenners!!!
