Say hello to this pretty fella. Isn't he just lovely in all his bloody 8-point glory. The Fanning and Shirley crew have been busy this season doin' some huntin'. So far Kylie and Luke shot 10-pointers, Papa Bill got himself a 7-point buck and now Riley can add this to the growing list of deer hanging in Luke's shed waiting to be processed. Katie is still on the prowl and should get one in no time! The hubster had been working hard to get himself a buck this season and with a little help from a generous deer he snagged a nice one. This guy was waltzing up to the feeder just as Riley getting ready to hop up in the deer stand. Katie and Riley had gone their separate ways to get in their respective spots and Katie said she thought Riley was either joking around or very bored when he texted her right away to say he was done. He had to get down low on his knees to drag the 150 pounder out of some brush. And that right there is just one of the reasons why I'll never be cut out to go hunting. Dragging heavy things and being covered in blood let alone actually figuring out how to operate a weapon is what will keep me on the cheerleading and picture-taking side of hunting. ;)
With all that being said I'm very proud of my huntin' man!!!
The hunter and huntress were making the rounds to show family as Hallie was getting out of the tub. I picked up the slippery girl, hurriedy dried her off, slipped on her froggy boots and a furry coat (no pants, ha!) and we rushed outside to see his prize. Riley said that her reaction was "oh man!"

This buck means that I get to see that cute guy above a lot more often now!!!!
