Upon waking this morning we soon realized that we had a LOT to be thankful for. With wildfires in Oklahoma raging out of control we were in desperate need of rain. We needed it now and we needed it fast! Prayers were sent up and rain came falling down. Hal was feeling the love this morning and took some time to PTL!!!!!!!!
I thought it fitting that we woke up and learned about praying and answered prayers since this morning marked Hallie's very first Sunday in a Sunday school class. It was one of those moments that made me both excited and incredibly nervous. Was she going to behave? Was the going to flip tables over and throw juice at the other kids? Ok, maybe I'm being a bit dramatic. It turned out that I had nothing to worry about. She got a grand report and came away with a brand new big girl Bible. Cue the mommy tears.
On our way home we asked her if she had fun and her answer was "yes." When asked who she learned about she gave an emphatic "Gee" and pointed to the sky. Jesus and Hallie are apparently on a nickname basis already. We spent some time after lunch reading some select stories that she chose based solely on which pictures had animals in them or not. ;)
The fact that she loves this new big girl Bible makes my heart soar. It's not a secret that she hasn't been a huge fan of her other Bible books thus far. She usually loses interest before we can even hit page two. But this one has much more color and many more animals to keep her attention. Because that's what it's all about I guess. Getting their attention....keeping their attention.....introducing them to God.......teaching them how to pray....and guiding them along the way.
All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. ~ Isaiah 54:13
