A Belated Christmas Dinner

The week of Christmas was a slow one as far as work was concerned. I was pleased as punch when I realized that my schedule would allow me to spend Thursday afternoon in Shattuck with family. David, Lisa, Dara and Garrett weren't able to drive to Meme's on Christmas Day due to the snow so they made their way out west a couple days after. Deedee and Lonnie were also there when we showed up but they weren't able to stay for the delicious meal that Lisa and David cooked. While we waited for everything to come out of the oven Hallie opened several presents that kept her busy busy! One of those gifts was this tunnel o' fun.....

"Where's Hal?"

She spent a surprisingly good chunk of time getting reacquainted with this Florida college guy.....

She smashed all of his theories about her being a grumpy two-year-old who hates him as she giggled and squealed when he held her up in the air by her legs. "Again, again, again!!!" she hollered. Best friends in the making.....

Hallie learned what a bubblegum bubble was thanks to her goofy cousin she was cloned from....

Between all of the bubble-popping and tunnel-crawling she was ready to eat. Ok, well maybe the adults were ready to eat and Hallie was ready to be a toot at the table. We had a Christmas ham and all the fixins....and pie of course! Wanna know what Hallie ate? Crackers. Lil stinker. Meme wasn't feeling on top of her game that day and was still a bit sluggish following her hospital stay but she put on her best poker face. I think I asked her at least twenty times if she felt alright. Meme didn't really have a choice whether to perk up or not seeing as how she had Hallie Grace and this adorable little Huskie pup running around her house.....

Dara was puppy-sitting her friends new dog and Hallie was smitten by the lil guy....

"Wanna come home with me?"

She didn't hide the fact that it was well past her naptime and spent most of the afternoon fighting sleep atop Lisa's lap in the rocking chair.....

"I swear mom....not a bit tired."

I was once again reminded of how perfectly blessed Hal and I are to be a part of a wonderful, loving family who shares in eachother's joy and knows how to have fun just sitting and doing absolutely nothing. Blessed, blessed, blessed.
