Just Play-Doh-in' it up!

While Hal took her long Sunday nap I perused the toy aisles of Walmart in search of a fun new activity/toy for us to do. It didn't take but a second to find what I was looking for. The colorful tops and bright, easily recognizable containers were like a beacon. PLAY-DOH!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the most fun thing ever invented!!!! Ok, so let's me honest. I think I bought the doh for myself just as much as I did for Hallie. Surely she wouldn't mind sharing. I remember spending hours upon hours as a wee one making spaghetti and hamburgers, necklaces and rings, so on and so on......the fun never ending with Play-Doh! I was so excited for her to wake up from her nap so that we could get to playing. The fact that I hadn't torn into the mushy stuff prior to her waking took a lot of self-control. She was still in a bit of a daze after her nap and wasn't sure what to think about the package I handed her......

"Mom, can we tone it down a bit until I'm fully awake? K, thanks"

She seemed intruiged enough and was trying to get into the package soon so I plopped her in her highchair and handed her a couple of colors first.....

Oh how I loved the feeling of that magical stuff in my hand. I was hoping she would share in my excitment. Or should I say over-excitment??

"Gonna need some guidance here mom....."

"Do I eat it?"

As I should've anticipated she was much more interested in the container than she was the actual Play-Doh.....

So far she is a pro at taking the lump of doh out and putting it back in the container. Our next session will focus on making snakes and pancakes. Baby steps people, baby steps.

I'm sure I'll have myself a Play-Doh-in fool before long.
