Pink. Princess. Shiny streamers. Baby seat on the back.
This new set of wheels was made for my pink lovin' girly girl.
Hal was gifted her first big girl bike with training wheels on the evening Bella was born. Nanny and Papa picked out her new ride several weeks ago but saved it for that extra special occasion. She got to take her first spin on it outside in the front of the hospital after meeting lil sis.....
She had had quite a big day....swimming lessons, VBS, daycare, meeting lil sis....she was on the tired side by that evening. I hear she that she was excited about the pink streamers and the babyseat on the back but she didn't want to ride very long. She took her bike home where it remained parked for a couple of days. We finally talked her into hopping on for a ride one evening and found out why she was so timid. She just didn't quite have the hang of it and was deathly afraid of pedaling down the driveway.
We've been encouraging her to ride it almost every night and she's usually game for a ride as long as we are going to the park around the corner. OR if her neighbor friends are also out on their bikes...then it's cool. Riding with daddy in his overalls??? That's also kinda cool I guess....
She's gaining more confidence with her new wheels and overcoming her fears. She gets going down the driveway and eventually starts screaming and plants her feet down and drags them along to stop the bike. She's a little too much like her momma when it comes to trying out new physical activities. There have been a couple crashes but I know it won't be long before we're removing the training wheels. Check out that almost four-year-old, pre-k girl smile!
If you ask her to put a baby doll in the back she'll quickly tell you no. Ya see, that seat's reserved for "Bella only."
