Keep on Keepin' On Lil Red

Dear daughter,

In life you will encounter some mean-spirited people. I suppose I want to write this to warn you ahead of time before you grow up and me and become a teenager/adult/mom. Here's my advice: DON'T RESPOND TO THESE SITUATIONS LIKE YOUR MOTHER DOES.

Don't fret.
Don't cry.
Don't worry.

I repeat....
DON'T WORRY.

Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Here's something your dear momma is working on accepting: you cannot please everyone you come in contact with....and you certainly won't be liked by everyone....and heavens no, you won't be able to meet everyone's expectations.

And here's the deal: it's OKAY.

But ya know what???

You are a good person. With a big heart. And you are loved.

Someone else's opinion of you does not define who you are.

I know these seem like simple words. But I hope one day the words find you at the right time just when you need them the most.

Bullies and big mean meanies have no place in your heart, nor do they mine, so brush it off, go about your day, thank God for your blessings and keep on keepin' on.
